Le projet ‹loop — down the hills, across the land› s’inscrit dans la volonté de la Commune de Sanem de valoriser le territoire niché entre le patrimoine industriel, qui a façonné le sud du Luxembourg et une nature foisonnante qui se déploie au travers des quatre localités qui la constituent. L’histoire, ancrée dans le présent, n’apparaît ici pas comme un monument ou un vestige immuables mais fait partie de la vie des citoyen.ne.s. Il était dès lors important de ne pas imposer des oeuvres d’art « toutes faites », comme venant s’exposer à Sanem mais plutôt d’imaginer des créations qui soient pensées in situ comme un écho aux sites choisis, à la vie quotidienne des habitant.e.s et à leur mémoire.
Ce parcours est pensé, autant que possible, en dialogue avec les structures locales très actives tant au point de vue social que culturel mais également dans sa temporalité avec des projets éphémères et très ponctuels, et d’autres qui vont dépasser le cadre des festivités du mois de juillet prévu pour cette année culturelle. Workshops participatifs, événements, concerts, piqueniques seront autant d’occasions de solliciter le public et de créer des moments d’échange et de vie. ‹Down the hills, across the land› invite à la balade et à découvrir les chemins qu’empruntait le minerai du haut de ses collines, à travers un territoire ponctué d’histoires passées et contemporaines, d’une nature qui a repris ses droits et ce, à travers 18 propositions artistiques.
