Spectacular closing event of the “EDEN EUROPA” project

The “EDEN EUROPA” project is based on an artistic work that explores mythical, enchanted and symbolic gardens. Within this framework, the project aims to create a common imaginary world uniting all the different cultures of a region. Through a series of artistic and cultural workshops that are taking place throughout the project, this contemporary work will be shaped by the diverse cultural backgrounds of the participants, as well as by the encounters and sharing of experiences.
“EDEN EUROPA” brings together the region’s inhabitants on both sides of the border through a series of artistic activities that include performing arts, dance and music, as well as urban landscaping. The project team organises regular meetings in order to exchange on different topics, along with workshops on artistic practices, garden design, urban scenographic landscaping and the revitalisation of green spaces. In collaboration with other existing or emerging projects throughout the region, the organisers aim to create an artistic trail across a variety of gardens, natural areas and urban spaces, featuring dance performances, music and sound installations, like the “Landscaper” performance, which took place under the open sky. Moreover, the project establishes a network between the different partner structures (associations, municipality, school…), the participants, the visitors and the inhabitants. Eventually, this experience will be further developed throughout Europe.
To conclude the “EDEN EUROPA” project, the “Landscaper X” performance, combining dance, music and AR, will take place on 11 December at the Arche in Villerupt, France. This is the closing event of the EDEN EUROPA project, but also the kick-off for its continuation: Sayoko Onishi and Emmanuel Fleitz from Man’ok & Cie have invited visual artist Michäel England to reinterpret his choreographic and musical creation “Landscaper, here open air”.
