Esch2022, European Capital of Culture

In 2022, Esch-Alzette, the second largest city in Luxembourg, holds the title of European Capital of Culture together with the 10 municipalities of the Pro-Sud and the 8 French municipalities of the “Communauté de Communes Pays Haut Val d’Alzette” (CCPHVA). Each year this label is awarded to a different city or area within the European Union.

Shopping Pass

In addition to its cultural appeal, the life of the Esch2022 region is shaped by commercial, gastronomic and innovative activities. Combining shopping and culinary experiences, this Shopping Pass highlights the city’s most important locations and allows you to explore the Esch2022 region, its culture and its people. Discover our different partners, collect the stamps, and become a true resident of the Esch2022 region. Amazing prizes are waiting for you!

HOW TO USE THIS PASSPORT?

  1. Pick up your Shopping Pass at the various locations from 15 October.
  2. Fill in your personal information.
  3. Take a look at the list of participants and start exploring.
  4. Enter a participating shop/bar/restaurant and show your Shopping Pass to get your stamp (only 1 stamp per station).
  5. You will need at least 9 stamps to get a prize. For each additional 9 stamps the number of prizes increases (maximum 4 prizes per passport).
  6. Collect your prize at the various locations.
  7. Keep your Shopping Pass, which now identifies you as a true inhabitant of Esch2022 – European Capital of Culture.
  8. The activity will end on 24 December 2022.
