Regional and sustainable delights stop by and try a piece of the south

On the weekend of 30 September, anyone who loves our local cuisine and regional products will have the opportunity to make exceptional culinary discoveries.

During this weekend, the Luxembourg nature parks of Upper Sûre, Our and Mëllerdall, in collaboration with the municipality of Käerjeng and the Syndicat inter-communal PRO-SUD, organise the market Au Goût du Terroir, which offers visitors the opportunity to discover the richness and diversity of regional products from Luxembourg and the Greater Region. More than 100 exhibitors will demonstrate the authenticity and originality of regional gastronomic productions as well as their eco-friendly product quality and their contribution to biodiversity. The event is intended to be a meeting place for producers and consumers.

On a total area of 3,000 m², they will organise workshops and ateliers on the themes of taste and food, as well as educational events and courses focusing on gastronomy. All exhibitors and participants at the event have signed a green charter aimed at reducing their own ecological footprint. In this sense, the event will be held under the “Green Event” label, which – like Esch2022 itself – promotes aspects of social and environmental sustainability: Zero Waste Policy…

In the same spirit, all the residents of the entire Esch2022 region, the Esch-Sauer region (Upper Sûre Nature Park), but also all other interested people from Luxembourg and the Greater Region, are invited to participate in a textile creation around the theme of water in the framework of the H2Only project.

The result will be presented at the H2Only pop-up bar in the region of Esch-Alzette and in Esch-Sauer. We are talking about a small pop-up bar that will be used simultaneously as a bar and as a textile work of art and that can be adapted to the needs and requirements of the various Esch2022 events. This compact, mobile space will be completely clad and furnished using blue jeans fabric according to the principle of upcycling or zero waste. Once the project is completed, the space including the bar, dishwasher, refrigerator, furniture and decorations will be made available to the associations of the Upper Sûre Nature Park region for small celebrations. The result is a place for gathering and exchange around the themes of water and textile, which also helps to reduce waste.
