Jessica TheisDescription
Spieglein Spieglein - miroir miroir is a participatory touring exhibition (Interactive map). It is a photo-mirror installation that takes shape in telephone boxes and booths. It is participative because I invite the viewer to photograph themselves interacting with the installation and to share this photo on social networks. I collect these photographs which will be part of the final exhibition. The unique thing is that we have an effect of ubiquity.

About
My name is Jessica Theis, I have been a freelance photographer since 2005 and I am the leader of two different projects selected by Esch2022. I have been taking photographs since I was 16 years old. I was fascinated and still am by the fact that a photo can say more than 1000 words. Isn't that what every photographer is looking for? To express something? To say something? And that is thanks to a camera, a black box with a small hole in it, where light enters and is recorded on film, where a curtain opens and closes like in a play. It's still fascinating to me. I see myself as a simple and honest person, I am 39 years old, married and have two small children. I have been working as a commercial photographer since 2005. In 2016 I founded a photography studio in Op der Schock in Rédange-Attert which allowed me to take a step back from my commercial photography. This step back freed me to think about two big personal projects. I proposed these two projects to Esch2022 and received approval in principle (category 1) for both projects. Because of my social commitment, I am also interested in social issues, important issues that are worth discussing.
