Focus on the programme: Jugend-/Familljendag: music to the fore!

On 17 and 18 September 2021, in the context of the Jugend-/Familljendag, the Freesson collective invites children and adults to take part in workshops and to attend two wacky and surprising open-air concerts.

BRICOMUSIQUE demonstration workshops
with Jankenpopp and Confipop (Freesson collective)
With the musical demonstration Bricomusique, artists Jankenpopp and Confipop from the Freesson collective invite you to discover that you can create upbeat, spiky and retro-futuristic electronic music with homemade instruments, thanks to creative repurposing of video game consoles and joysticks, toy instruments for children (circuit bending) and other ‘undead’ media, brought back to life for the pleasure of the young at heart, whatever their age.

JANKENPOPP CONCERT
Live electro/Freesson Collective
Musician, performance artist, electronic instrument-maker and multimedia sculptor, Jankenpopp makes music with pop songs against a background of electronic rhythms and other chiptune sounds. In concert, he is surrounded by a bunch of instruments that he dreamt up himself: circuit-bent machines, repurposed video game controls, DIY synthesizers etc. On stage, Jankenpopp offers performances that are impossible to categorise, linked to traditional-format live electro but which incorporate improvisation and veritable interaction with the public.

CONFIPOP CONCERT
Live micromusic/Freesson collective
Confipop is a musical project taking as its starting point a Game Boy and modified electronic games (circuit bending). Between crazy cover versions, and smart grooves, ‘technoblip’ or ‘reggaeblop’, Confipop plays upbeat and offbeat 8-bit chip music. He is one of the spearheads of European micromusic, which describes a range of musical activities that have their origins in common with the sound tracks of video games from the 1980s and 90s.
