The most beautiful secondary matter in the world - this is how football is often dubbed, and yet this phrase occasionally seems reserved only for men. In the spirit of the 1970s, when football bans on women were falling across Europe, FC Atert Bissen got licensed and was the first women's football league in Luxembourg in 1972. The early years of the league were marked by numerous failures due to lack of enrolment, but what drove this small group of women at the time to keep believing in their dream football league? A club that advocated for equality between women's and men's football from the beginning stormed from the second league to the first: SC Ell won in 2012 in front of 1,000 of its own fans in 'David against Goliath' style against the record champions FC Progrès Niederkorn - even though the village actually only has barely 300 souls. But these high-flying games are more the exception than the rule. In six 20-minute chapters, we look back on the detours and new beginnings of the women's football league in this documentary. The 2020 / 2021 season, due to Covid19 (post)labour pains, will be the signpost for whether Luxembourg women's football, shortly before its official 50th birthday, can orientate itself towards competitive sport.
