HONEY DIJON + DENIS SULTA + MAMIKO MOTTO

As part of the outreach programme of the exhibition “Hacking Identity – Dancing Diversity” (27.02 – 15.05.2022). HONEY DIJON (US): Chicago raised, New York infused, Honey Dijon has a folio reaching beyond her extensive global nightclub bookings. She’s gate-crashed into artistry, sociology, fashion and the rights of the individual. She is queer to the bone. As a recording artist, she helmed an audacious debut record. MAMIKO MOTTO (LT): Mamiko is known for her music connoisseurship and diverse curation and mixing of different styles together to build sonic narratives that transport audiences, whether in a museum, an intimate event or a super club. Curated by Lizdas official ambassadors of Kaunas 2022.

CARPENTER BRUT - LEATHER TERROR TOUR

As part of the outreach programme of the exhibition “IN TRANSFER – A New Condition” (03.09 – 27.11.2022). Four years after the 130 shows across the northern hemisphere with the Leather Patrol Tour, Carpenter Brut will hit the road again in 2022 with the second part of his second trilogy: the Leather Terror Tour. The story, entirely written and composed by Carpenter Brut, takes a new turn. Bret Halford becomes a blood-thirsty serial killer. Taking advantage of his tours with his band, Leather Patrol, he hunts down all of those who bullied him during his teenage years, he seeks revenge. Here is what lies at the core of the writing for this second opus entitled Leather Terror. With killer riffs and metallic drums, Carpenter Brut clearly states his love for the 1980’s trash metal while the singing takes a more important part in the compositions. This new show will be as powerful as it will be catchy, the combination of both leading to a music more electrifying than ever.

MAX COOPER

“Visualization” has long been used to present all kinds of data. Information is translated into size, shape, colour, and more. “Sonification” is basically visualizing for the ears. You take a data set, some kind of information, and create sounds with it. The “Sound of Data” project will be using scientific data – traffic data, historical data, data from crowdsourcing art and 3D body scan data – to generate sounds, which will then be used by musicians to compose new tracks and be performed live on stage on the 3rd of December 2022, followed by performances by Valery Vermeulen and the headliner: Max Cooper. The Sound of Data is a collaborative project between Rockhal / Rocklab, the Luxembourg National Research Fund, the University of Luxembourg, and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology as part of Esch2022, European Capital of Culture.
