BMW Art cars “9 out of 19“

As part of the project partnership between BMW Group Belux and the European Capital of Culture Esch2022, the exhibition BMW Art Cars "9 out of 19" is dedicated to the famous collection of 19 BMW models decorated by internationally renowned artists; Alexander Calder, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Jeff Koons ... The idea of BMW Art Cars was born in 1975, when French racing driver Hervé Poulain competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the first time. Poulain was looking for a connection between art and motorsport. So, he came up with the idea of having his BMW 3.0 CSL converted by an artist. He found an open-minded partner in BMW. On BMW M's 50th anniversary this year, you can discover 9 of the 19 BMW Art Cars that have been created since the project's inception, in this exhibition that is as rare as it is extraordinary.
